I had planned to walk yesterday morning, but it rained all morning and I didn’t think getting soaking wet after just getting over a cold was a good idea.
I was worried that since I hadn’t walked in a week and a half it would be hard getting back into the swing of it but, surprisingly, it wasn’t. I walk to music and the songs increase in bpm as my walk goes on. Not only was I able to keep up, I wasn’t exhausted at all when I was done.
I hadn’t realized how much I had missed walking. And I have even more of an incentive than just losing weight and getting certain health factors under control to keep at it. I was rummaging around in my closet ascertaining what I owned and what I needed to replace cold-weather clothing-wise. I came across a denim shirt of mine that I hadn’t been able to button up in quite some time. I took a chance and put it on. I was able to button it up! Still a little snug in places, but the fact that I could button it when a year ago I couldn’t was quite uplifting and very motivating.
It was a bit cool this morning but not unpleasant. Certainly not as cold as it’s going to get by next week. I’ll definitely have to start wearing gloves and a warmer hat. Oh, as I was walking a father and son passed me by on their bikes. The son looked to be about ten. He breathlessly asked his father “How do you do this every day?” I didn’t hear the father’s response, but I thought it was cute.
