I didn’t get my morning walk in today because I had some early morning errands to take care of. And, initially, I was just going to skip walking today and walk on Saturday to make up for it. But around 1:30 p.m. I got real restless and the next thing I knew I’d put on my walking outfit and I was walking.
It was warm, although according to the Weather Channel the dewpoint was 32, which I find a bit hard to believe. It didn’t feel that dry, but the temp was 77 and the sun was higher in the sky and it was slamming me on the side of my face. So my walk was a bit more tiring this time of the day than it is in the morning. I prefer it being cooler because we warm up as we walk and if it’s already warm, then you’re going to feel hot.
Oh, and when I was over at the Weather Channel, they were talking about Winter Storm Atlas (yes, they name winter storms now, like hurricanes) Now, you have to picture, I’d just come in from my walk, I’m sweating, I’m hot, I’m gulping down water and it’s sunny and warm outside and I see that Montana, Idaho, Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota and Western Nebraska are going to get hit with a snow storm. SNOW! It was a bit weird to say the least and I had to read it twice to be sure I’d read it right.
Isn’t it a bit early for snow, even for those parts? But we’re not supposed to be close to 80 in October in these neck of the woods either, so, well, it’s the weather. Go figure.
I didn’t see anyone walking dogs and doubted I would this time of the day. I did see a lot of orange construction cones. When I got closer, I saw that bicycle figures had been painted on the road to indicate it was a designated bicycle trail, which reminded me that I want to get a bike at some point. One like this so I can carry groceries and packages in it.
