Fall Color Progression

Fall leavesSeemed to happen overnight but the leaves are starting to turn around here, although the weather has been warm and definitely not fall-like. The local weather said that we’re about ten degrees above average. We’re supposed to be in the mid-60s although I suspect those temps are coming soon.

Fall Color Progression

I’m still finding it hard to believe that September is nearly over and October 1st is this coming Tuesday!

October is Halloween and pumpkins and candied apples and warm sweaters and, also, prepping for NaNoWriMo, which I plan to do this year; although I suspect I have more fun getting ready for NaNo than I do actually doing it. Nah, just kidding. I enjoy doing NaNo, but the anticipation of doing it is always enjoyable. It’s like opening up a brand spanking new notebook and dreaming about what you’re going to write in it. And then, oh yeah, you gotta actually do some writing. 🙂

  1. I’m on the fence about Nano. There’s a part of me that wants to do it to kick start the muse but it’s a crazy month for us and we’re traveling for Thanksgiving this year. I do miss the fall colors here in the desert!

I forgot exactly why November was chosen for NaNoWriMo but I’ve heard people comment that it’s usually a really busy month for them, especially as it relates to Thanksgiving, so I can totally understand. I haven’t done so well with NaNo the past few years, so I’m always up, it seems, to trying again. 🙂
