This morning while walking I found myself practicing the interview I’m going to give when I make it big. You know. Unknown author breaks out with huge best-seller that takes the world by the throat and won’t let it go.
One of the questions previously unknown-author-with-huge-bestseller is asked is “where did you get the idea for your book?”
Can’t you just see it? Me on television in wide-screen HD? Obnoxious interviewer for fill-in-the-blank network asks me where did I get my idea for my mega best-selling fill-in-the-blank series.
I coyly answer that I got the idea while doing my morning walk. Obnoxious interviewer’s eyes widen. Really? I nod sagaciously. It came to me in a flash, while my feet were pounding the pavement, my heart rate increasing with each determined step I took.
A fill-in-the-blank image of fill-in-the-blank exploded in my mind, and I was in such a fever from my brilliant, powerful, exciting, exhilarating idea that I quickly finished my walk, dashed home, brewed up a carafe full of coffee and wrote the entire series in a day. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Yeah, right. Well, it was fun daydreaming it as I walked.
Saw a doggy poop transgressor. He came out of an apartment building’s front entrance, let the dog do his business on the grass then went back inside and left, well, you know what he left.
Another crisp now-officially-fall morning, although we’re supposed to get near 80 by the end of the week. So some bits of summer still left to enjoy. Leaves are definitely starting to turn. I’ll have to take my camera out and snap some pics. There are lots of trees in this area, and I also live close to two small parks.
